    The beautiful grounds and gardens of the White House are opened for public viewing on the dates listed above. Come and enjoy a stroll through the gardens. Visitors are invited to view Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden, Children's Garden and South Lawn of the White House while military bands perform from a White balcony. The event is open to the public; a ticket is required for all attendees, including children. The National Park Service will distribute free, timed tickets at the Ellipse Visitor Pavilion located at 15th and E Streets on each tour day beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are distributed --one ticket per person on a first come first served basis. Entry for the Garden Tours will begin on the Ellipse. Guests will be escorted to the South Lawn per their designated ticket time. Strollers, wheelchairs are permitted. In case of inclement weather, the Garden Tours will be cancelled.

    Every 4th Sunday in October, world-class athletes compete with amateurs in one of the most well-known long distance runs. The marathon starts at the Marine Memorial (Iwo Jima) in Arlington, VA and follows the George Washington Memorial Parkway to the National Mall, the Capitol and returns to the Marine Memorial. Registration fee required in advance.

Your donation benefits the Zoo's Cheetah Conservation Fund. You contribution will help us build a new cheetah breeding and research facility. We need your help to make this facility a reality.
