Eating at Coeur de Lion is as much about the experience as it is the food. One enters Coeur de Lion through a set of french doors into a cozy, refined dining room. Looking up you can see the the night sky through the glass skylight. In this room there are a number of tables. There is another area that is larger, but no less cozy or refined dining room. The maitre'd will take you to your table and tuck you in for the evening.

Order a drink, sit back and relax. This is not the place one wants to rush through dinner.

Richard Thompson, the executive chef, has a wonderful and varied menu. Reading the menu is an experience in itself. Remember though, the desert menu is not on the dinner menu, so make sure to save room for the best bread pudding anywhere -- it's addictive.

After dinner, on the weekend, go to the Blue Bar and listen to some jazz while having an after dinner aperitife to round out your evening.

I've been to Coeur de Lion several times and it has been a uniformly wonderful experience. Terrific food, attentive waitpersons and a lovely atmosphere. Great jazz singer too.
